Information on the Activities of the Society

Lectures of leading mathematicians held at the Society meetings on the regular bases is the major direction of its activity. Over a dozen of such meetings take place each year. The topics of these lectures are the most important recent results in various fields of mathematics, major mathematical dates, anniversaries of the most respected Petersburg mathematicians, discussions on actual topics. Lectures of the Mathematical Lectorium for Students are given by the mathematicians of St. Petersburg and by visiting professors.

The Society publishes Proceedings of the St. Petersburg Mathematical Society and maintains an electronic archive Preprints of the St. Petersburg Mathematical Society.

Student's Mathematical Competitions, with an accent on research problems, take place from time to time.

The Society Scholarships are regularly paid to those students of the special group at the St. Petersburg University who achieve good results.
