The website of the St. Petersburg Mathematical Society now runs in its new layout: the main page mathsoc.spb.ru opens the new site. The old site's pages are preserved and remain available at their former addresses — each of them carries a banner at the top linking to the new site. The old site is also available in the Links menu section.
For older computers and browsers that do not support JavaScript, a simplified JavaScript-free version of the site has been prepared (the “No JS” button at the top of the page enables the same version).
The migration of the site's content to the new layout is still in progress: some pages still open in the old form. We are converting them to the new design one by one.

On July 23, 2026, at the International Congress of Mathematicians in Philadelphia, USA, the names of the 2026 Fields Medal winners were announced.
The laureates are:
Yu Deng — for his work in partial differential equations and the derivation of kinetic equations, including the rigorous derivation of the Boltzmann equation from hard-sphere dynamics for rarefied gases.
John Pardon — for his achievements in symplectic geometry, topology, and knot theory, including new approaches to virtual fundamental cycles, Fukaya categories of certain manifolds, and counting holomorphic curves.
Jacob Tsimerman — for his contribution to arithmetic and complex algebraic geometry (o-minimality methods) and his role in the proof of many central conjectures, including Griffiths' conjecture on the algebraicity of images of the period maps, and the Andre-Oort conjecture for Siegel modular varieties.
Hong Wang — for her breakthroughs in harmonic analysis and geometric measure theory, including the solution to the Kakeya problem in three dimensions, and in particular, the application of multiscale and decoupling techniques to the local smoothing conjecture for the planar wave equation.
