Central European Journal of Mathematics Newsletter No. 3 We are proud to announce the publication of the first regular issue of Central European Journal of Mathematics. In 2003 the first issue is freely available at http://www.ingentaselect.com/16443616/ I hope you will find time to look up the journal and would highly appreciate any remark or suggestion for improvement. In launching CEJM we have received tremendous support and encouragement from leading scientists of CEE and also of countries outside this region. We very strongly rely on this support for the further development of the CEJM initiative. I would like to use this opportunity to ask you to consider CEJM as a possible forum for publishing your research results. You can find all necessary information on http://www.cesj.com , including our Call for Papers at http://www.cesj.com/call_math.html. Kind regards, Stanislaw Betley Managing Editor betley@cesj.com Central European Journal of Mathematics www.cesj.com Dear Colleagues, The first volume of the Central European Journal of Mathematics (CEJM) composed of four issues has been recently completed and can be seen on our webpage at: http://www.ingentaselect.com/rpsv/catchword/cesj/16443616/contp1.htm The first stage of establishing the Journal has been finished and it seems that it is a proper time for some summary and reflections. There were published 38 research and two survey papers, which have been chosen from more then 100 articles that were submitted and passed the process of refereeing. The topics of the published papers cover all areas of mathematics. The average time of the paper processing, from submission of the paper to appearing of the paper on the Fast Track, is three months. All the papers that have appeared in the first three issues are already available on the pages of Mathematical Review. It seems that the main goals of the CEJM have been achieved. These are founding the Journal, both friendly to the authors, but demanding a proper scientific level of their papers accepted for publication. And the time scheduled for the paper processing is as short as we has assumed and promised. Papers can be submitted via our Paper Processing System at: http://www.cesj.com/mathematics/pps.
